ARCHITECT REGARDING SECTION 11062 (PARTIAL FLY
RIGGING-PARTIAL FIXED RIGGING) but with a serious
dramatic-musical program where counterweight sets are needed for scenery and lighting
but the vertical dimensions do not allow floor length drapery to fly into loft space above the
proscenium. For this reason floor length drapery is installed to “dead
hung” or fixed tracks that permit lateral movement of the drapery, but
not vertical movement. Click

ARCHITECT REGARDING SECTION 11070 This
specification is for counterweight rigging only. This is not a complete stage
package. Use for adding
miscellaneous counterweight sets, such as for rows of
acoustical sound reflector panels over the stage. NOTE TO SPECIFYING ARCHITECT
REGARDING SECTION 11071 MOTORIZED RIGGING SPECIFICATION This specification
is for leading edge technology.
Unbalanced battens can be raised into the loft and lowered with safety
and without the need for balance weight. The locking rail and loading bridge are
also eliminated. Click

11073 ACOUSTICAL DRAPERY AND TRACKS FOR AUDITORIUM WALLS (MOTORIZED SYSTEM) Acoustical side wall draperies are
used to tune the auditorium. This
specification requires a single electrical draw
curtain machine for each side wall.
Sometimes many machines are specified for
controlling separate areas of the wall surfaces (including the rear wall). Sound absorption is a function of the
area. See Section 11067 if
walk-along operation is desired for economy. Click

ARCHITECT REGARDING SECTION 11074 A beautiful vertical moving
drapery with Austrian pleats is specified. In the storage position the curtain
becomes a scalloped valance. NOTE TO SPECIFYING
ARCHITECT REGARDING SECTION 11075 (VINYL LAMINATE AND WALK-ALONG TRACK) This specification is an
inexpensive solution for darkening drapery. NOTE TO SPECIFYING
ARCHITECT REGARDING SECTION 11076 Line shaft winches consist of a
horizontal shaft that extends for the full horizontal dimension of the
curtain. The shaft is turned by a
motor geared down to the proper speed.
Spools on centers of 3 ft. to 10 ft., more or less, are used to store
cables that pass through vertical columns of D-rings. The stacked curtain stores at the
ceiling. NOTE TO SPECIFYING
ARCHITECT REGARDING SECTION 11077 A system consisting of 2 sets of
parallel pipes, one set perpendicular to the other, is very frequently
specified for TV studios, black box theatres, and stages without loft space. NOTE TO SPECIFYING
ARCHITECT REGARDING SECTION 11078 This is
an inexpensive way to divide a room.
Track is
ceiling mounted and drapery is walk-along. NOTE TO SPECIFYING
ARCHITECT REGARDING SECTION 11079 Sound
reflectors over the stage usually consist of 2 rows of panels. These are aluminum with painted
finish. These panels can take the
abuse of stage operations without concern for flammability. NOTE TO SPECIFYING ARCHITECT SECTION 11080 TV STUDIO PERIMETER DRAPERY TV studios nearly always have a
perimeter track that is specified along with several different fabrics, a
muslin fabric onto which various colors of light can be directed, a pleated
velour drapery, and a CBS gray fabric for use with equipment that can be used
to superimpose a person, for example, in front of a cityscape. Click

CIRCUITS) DeSisti has integrated a pipe
batten with a plug-in strip, pulleys, cables and a motorized hoist. This assembly is used widely for a
front spotlight position over the audience (when a fore-stage catwalk or light
bridge is not in the budget). The
multiple conductor feed cables are also handled with this system and fold up
as the batten is raised.
Spotlights are not included.
These units can also be specified for lighting rows over the stage. Click

specified electric screen for use on stages without loft space. Click

NOTE TO SPECIFYING
ARCHITECT REGARDING SECTION 11085 Typical black box theatres require
a perimeter track and black velour perimeter drapery. Very often a pipe grid is used in
conjunction. NOTE TO SPECIFYING
ARCHITECT REGARDING SECTION 11087-24 This is
a modest lighting control system (dimming) with a total of 24 dimmable
circuits, appropriate for some middle schools. NOTE TO SPECIFYING
ARCHITECT REGARDING SECTION 11087-48 This
system has 48 dimmable circuits and is appropriate for many high school
theatre programs. This is not a
large system. NOTE TO SPECIFYING
ARCHITECT REGARDING SECTION 11087-48/24 This
system has an ultimate capacity of 48 dimmers, but only 24 dimmers are
furnished at this time. System is expandable to 48 dimmers without rewiring. This is not a large system. NOTE TO
SPECIFYING ARCHITECT REGARDING SECTION 11087-96 This system has 96 dimmers and is
appropriate for large high schools with extensive music and drama
programs. Typical for new high
schools in the suburbs. |
